Component sourcing support

Organise BOM enquiries and material decisions before committing to a build.

Start with an unambiguous BOM

A component description alone may leave several purchasing choices open. Manufacturer names, exact part numbers, quantities and acceptable alternatives help suppliers evaluate the same requirements.

Support for your material plan

  • Organise BOM enquiries and identify missing purchasing details.
  • Clarify which components you supply and which require sourcing.
  • Collect availability, minimum-order and lead-time information.
  • Present proposed substitutions for your approval.
  • Coordinate material-readiness questions with the manufacturing partner.

Keep approvals explicit

Changes in manufacturer, package, tolerance, temperature rating or qualification may matter to your product. Alternatives should be reviewed and approved by your authorised engineering contact before purchase or assembly.

Available stock and quoted lead times can change. Confirm material availability and the quotation validity when placing the order.

Define the purchasing responsibility

The sourcing party, approved channels, traceability documents, excess material and handling of unused components should be agreed in writing. No blanket claim is made that every part or source is suitable for every application.
